Job Description

THE COMPANY

I’m currently working with a cutting-edge Software business within the Energy sector who are going through a period of transformation. They are well established and have been running for over 10 years and after recent investment they are going through rapid growth and are putting a huge focus on enhancing the products abilities for their growing client base.

The team is made up of 65 super-bright and ambitious people, 20 of whom sit within the Product Team. You will work in one of three squads alongside Embedded Software Engineers, Big Data Analysts, Product Owners and Front-End Developers.

THE ROLE

You will be working on React Native Android and iOS mobile applications as well as Web applications for domestic users. Client users access the same product with a more sophisticated real-time dashboard system which compiles huge amounts of complex data and presents it all simply.

Your job will be to work alongside Product Owners, Engineers, Users and Clients to create seamless cohesive interfaces at several stops within the software, ensuring overall functionality of the product throughout.

There will be between 4-6 members of the Squad that you join. The work is fast paced, the teams are friendly, and you will have the freedom (and time) needed to come up with new ideas and contributions which will have a huge positive impact – not only on the team but on future generations!

THE SKILLS

We’re looking for someone with solid experience in end-to-end Product Design. The team are cross functional and multi-skilled, and we hope that you will be too!

As well as at least 3 years’ experience in UX/UI Design and a thirst for learning, you’ll need to have:

  • User and competitor research and analysis experience
  • Experience of information architecture, wireframing, usability testing, prototyping, a/b testing etc.
  • Experience facilitating client and user workshops
  • Created design libraries, systems and style guides
  • Strong technical understanding – working knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management experience

It’d be great if you also had:

  • Animation experience
  • Experience of Data Visualisation
  • Modern Design and Prototyping tools – no emphasis on specifics
  • React or TypeScript exposure would be awesome but not expected
  • An interest in speech interfaces

THE PACKAGE

The salary banding on this is really dependant on the relevant skills and expertise you can bring to the team. Ideally paying between £45,000 to £70,000 but if you have everything above in your bag and are looking closer to the £80,000 mark, feel free to apply. You’ll also have 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, stock options, flexible working hours, pension scheme, private health insurance, flexibility to work from home and continuous encouraged learning with an annual budget and study days allocated to benefit your career progression.
