Job Description

Senior Golang Engineer - FinTech - £80K

THE COMPANY
Established over 5 years ago, this ever-growing FinTech scale-up business are taking the industry by storm; they’re the leader in their particular vertical partnering with some of the biggest financial institutions globally. Their existing platform is aggregating and cleaning data which is then accessed in varying formats by up to 15 million users per hour. They’re dealing with "bigger than big data" with terabytes upon terabytes being ran through the platform.

THE ROLE
You’ll be joining as a Golang expert to help their team of 20+ Engineers on greenfield projects. They’re adding to the existing platform and building out a brand-new service which is looking to be bigger and even stronger than what they already have in place. This will give you the opportunity to work with live big data across the entire SDLC. With this being a new team, and huge growth planned for 2021, you will have fantastic opportunities to progress to a higher position too!

THE SKILLS
  • 5 years of Software Engineering experience
  • 2 years of Golang experience
  • Exposure to working with realtime, large data sets
  • Messaging systems understanding
  • Elasticsearch
  • Experience working in a fast paced, adaptive, and collaborative Engineering environment.

It’d be lovely if you also had exposure to the DevOps cycle (there is a DevOps team, however you’ll be somewhat involved right through to deployment).
A Computer Science (or similar) degree would also be desirable.

THE PACKAGE
On top of a salary of up to £80,000, you will also be eligible for a 10% annual bonus. You will have access to a top of the range L&D initiative including weekly training, general coaching as well as an individual budget for you to use on learning of your choice. They have a decent pension scheme, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays and a flexible hybrid remote working pattern.

THE NEXT STEPS…
There’s nothing scary here, they have a pretty straight forward and transparent process which they can get you through quickly! Once you’ve sent your CV to me, the following will happen:
  • Step 1: 30-minute screening conversation
  • Step 2: Take home technical exercise
  • Step 3: Final Interview (and hopefully an offer!)
