Software Development Manager – London – £70-80k + Benefits

Amicus Recruitment are delighted to be working with a leading business who are on the lookout for a Software Development Manager to join their team.  Based out of their offices close in Central London and reporting directly into the IT Director, you’ll be brought in to manage their development department that currently has around 4 Developers on the .Net / Ruby stack.

This is a hands-off development manager role, but we expect that the successful candidate will be someone who has technical capabilities and is up to date with the latest technologies, methodologies and practices.

Role and responsibility

  • Work with business leaders to develop a long-term development strategy
  • Ensure end to end delivery of development projects
  • You will have complete ownership of the live applications and ensure it ensure it runs securely and smoothly
  • Proactively look to optimize their development processes, services and tools
  • Be an inspired leader by developing your team’s best practices as well as coaching and mentoring all team members

Skills

You must be competent in these skills to be successful in this position:

  • Superb leadership experience / Excellent people management skills
  • Have experience of managing high-performant software development teams
  • Exposure to SQL and MySQL
  • Experience with .NET and Ruby on Rails frameworks
  • Exposure to JavaScript/HTML/CSS
  • Have experience with cloud based solutions such as AWS
  • Experience with an Agile/SCRUM approach
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills
