Head of Development / CTO – Between £70,000 - £100,000 – London
Amicus Recruitment are proud to be working with a software provider who are on the lookout for a Head of Development to join their team on a permanent basis. Based out of their offices in central London, you will be report into the CEO to drive forward the IT function and align it to the company’s ongoing vision.
The IT function currently stands at 15, compromising a team of 8 developers, testers, Business Analyst’s and Project managers. Whilst you will not be hands on in a coding capacity, you will be responsible for managing sprints and releases as well as working with the CEO to look at the It Strategy over the next 18 months and beyond. In this time there is plenty of growth for your role, stepping up into a CTO and growing the team to above 20 as the company continues its strong growth.
In terms of the current technology stack, the company are huge advocates of test-driven development and agile methodology and as their retail product has a huge amount of traffic at any given moment, they use the very latest architecture and technologies on the .NET stack including microservice architecture and .NET Core in an Azure environment, with React being their chosen technology on the frontend.
Whilst the company are not looking for a hands-on coder, they do want a Development manager who still is up to date from technology and has the ability to encourage and motivate teams. With the team only being 15, they want an individual who still understands the architecture and able to turn technical issues into non-technical language.

You will have experience in these skills to be successful in this position:
- Experience leading and managing a cross functional team of at least 8 – Current team is 15
- An advocate of agile
- The company use C# and React – So experience managing both backend and frontend developers is needed
- Can manage, coach and mentor IT functions
- Have experience dealing with C-Suite stakeholders
- Any experience with Devops and cloud technologies like Azure is highly advantageous
