Who am I? - Jake O’Regan!

Three weeks ago, Jake O'Regan joined Amicus Recruitment as our first ever Recruitment Consultant, and we're delighted to have him on board. We recently caught up with him to find out how he was settling in.

How has your first few weeks at Amicus Recruitment been?

I have really enjoyed my first few weeks at Amicus. It has been tough to learn the new systems and the new market, but feel with the help and support I have been provided I am certainly on the right track.

What have you been doing since you’ve started?

I have been learning as I have been going along, the best thing to do in this situation is to let you have a go. I started off by getting my head around the new system but then also getting on the phone to candidates and getting a feel for the market. As I got more comfortable I started to speak to clients and even got my first interview last week with a new client!

What’s your area of specialism and why do you feel you’ll be successful in this market?

My area of specialism is Microsoft .NET development throughout London. I recruit anyone from a junior developer all the way up to a Development Director. I feel I will be successful in this market as this is a candidate driven market with more jobs than candidates available. I believe that once I start to build trusting relationships with candidates, people will start to recognise me as a reliable recruiter within this space.

What attracted you to work for Amicus Recruitment over other agencies?

I have worked in a very corporate environment in my last role. I met with the Director Shaun Connor and was very impressed with how passionate he was with the company and how much they had planned for the next 2-5 years of growth. I loved the fact that everyone has one common goal to achieve targets and have a laugh on the way.

What are your goals in the next 12 months?

My goal over the next 12 months is to make a serious impression both at Amicus and within the .NET market. I want to pass my yearly target with flying colours and be knocking the door of becoming a Senior Consultant.

Finally, tell us an interesting fact about you!

I don’t know if you’d class it as interesting, but I played as a goalkeeper for England  School Boys (U18's) team back in the day!
